The Cantores Minores music institute accepts about 40-60 boys aged seven to ten by entrance examination each year. After studying for at least one year and passing a qualification test, they can enter the ’A choir’, which is the performing ensemble. Cooperation with Helsinki schools, launched in 1996, aims at expanding the music training programme towards the practice of the Dresdner Kreuzchor and the Thomanerchor from Leipzig, the distinguished models for Cantores Minores, and thus to raise the choir’s artistic level.
